Michelle Chan - W1 (Scriptwriting)

Michelle Chan was born and bred in Petaling Jaya, and has inhaled enough city fumes to last her lifetime. The former journalist at The Star quit her job and joined Operation Mobilisation in England and thereafter to a film school in University of the Nations in Kona, Hawaii, under the auspices of Youth With a Mission. After ending up in the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) in Virginia Beach producing / writing documentaries, she returned to her cubby hole in PJ in 2002, and started to freelance. And had been at it ever since.

Michelle does various types of writing, from PR campaigns to magazines, newspaper columns and advertising copy. On film and video, she writes scripts for short films, documentaries, corporate videos and commercials. She also directs on occassion. She used to organise events too, although she has stopped as she feels she's getting too old for these kind of things. *smiley* Her spare time is spent dabbling in some photography. Last year, she was involved in Faces and Places, a photography exhibition in Kuala Lumpur endorsed by Balai Seni Lukis.

These days, she spends most of her time studying and preparing bible study materials to teach in small groups and in church.
