Photography Stream 2011
B1: BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY
A still camera is one of the most accessible equipment that most, if not everyone has. With DSLRs flooding the market, most people find themselves owning a camera but not knowing how it works. If you have an interest in photography but don't understand the technical details of what an aperture, shutter speed or ISO is, then you should sign up for this stream. Other things that you will learn are composition techniques, shooting with available light, understanding flash photography and the basics of post processing.
Please bring:
1. A digital still camera of your own - preferably one with manual controls (doesn't have to be a DSLR)
2. A laptop if you own one
3. Your camera manual
4. Other lenses or flash if you own one
5. A card reader
B2: INTERMEDIATE PHOTOGRAPHY
If you have been shooting for quite some time, read your camera manual and know how to control your shutter speed and aperture to get the results you want, but want to move beyond basic, then you should join this stream. The topics covered are advanced lighting techniques, practical portraiture, event photography, photojournalism in photography, creating multimedia presentations that inspire and intermediate post processing.
Please bring:
1. Your own DSLR
2. A laptop if you own one
3. All your lenses and flash
4. Some of your photography work that you can share with us
5. A card reader
